X-C Flying is -
"Leaving the nest and exploring the potential".
What is cross country flying?

Some compare cross country flying to getting out on your own for
the first time. That is getting away from the familiar soaring ridge
and "going over the back" into uncharted territory- exploring your
potential with the excitement and uncertainty of not knowing just
how far you may go.
X-C Flying can start on a mountain or even ridge site, but tow
launching is gaining in popularity due to the flexibility of the starting
point. Towing opens up the possibility of flying vast areas without
Mountains.
The technique is basic- Thermal up to gain altitude, then fly
downwind, repeat. Easier said than done.
